Mentor Monday – Bob Bridge

Bob Bridge, Founder and Executive Director of the Southwest Angel Network, has spent decades learning and developing ways to make start-up companies successful. He has over 30 years of start-up experience, among those years are 17 as a founder or executive and 15 as a mentor and advisor. If there is anyone who knows the skills and holds the knowledge to make a company successful, it is Bob Bridge.

For the past three years, Bridge has been directing an angel network that connects investors with social impact start-up ventures, working to make the world a better place by encouraging the application of human and financial capital to address significant societal challenges. The Southwest Angel Network is composed of individuals who possess the desire to make the world a better place. Bridge states “we can have the most significant impact by funding for-profit start-up companies who are building sustainable businesses.”

As a mentor and advisor, he provides assistance in an abundance of areas such as market validation, fundraising, business strategy, and team building. He has spoken at various social impact accelerators; IncubatorCTX was fortunate enough to have him speak on the topic of funding last October. Since 2008, Bridge has helped teach the Austin Rice Alliance Entrepreneur Workshop. This is an 11-week course focusing on how to start and grow a successful business.

Bridge holds a BA in Mathematical Sciences from Rice University and a PhD in Computer Engineering from The University of Texas at Austin. Due to his extensive experience in founding and leading early-stage technology start-up companies to victorious exits, Bob Bridge is a great resource for IncubatorCTX members.
