Curt Roberts, CEO of Cornerstone Hospitals and Chairman of Austin Smiles, spoke at IncubatorCTX on Wednesday, January 16, 2019. His Speaker Series, “Surgery and Smiles: Scaling for Social Impact” discussed the revolutionary impact of cleft lip and palate surgeries. Austin Smiles provides much-needed plastic surgery to those in less developed locations such as Mexico and Central America. Due to his extensive experience as the head of a major corporation, Roberts has completely revamped the plastic surgery process for Austin Smiles.
The organization now partners with the communities and countries they serve. By doing so, they have helped to raise funds in these communities. Due to this, they have established in-country foundations and clinics and built systems of care. Recently in Sonrisas del Salvador, a free clinic has been built, equipped with dental space and a pharmacy. Austin Smiles works with the communities to ensure the continuance of care for the patients.
Curt Roberts hopes to continue to provide cleft lip and palate surgeries to all those in need as well as growing the impact, one step at a time.
